About Me

Hello and welcome to Yoga with Juliette,
I am a dedicated yogini living in the beautiful lac leman region of Switzerland. I hope that by visiting my site you will feel inspired to start or continue your yoga practice with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have.
I was first introduced to yoga in 2004 by a friend and was hooked from the beginning, I have since explored and discovered this ancient healing bodywork in its many forms.
My initial practice and teaching was strongly inspired by my grounding practice in the Ashtanga tradition and I studied in this lineage with the Samyak School of Yoga in Kerala, India in 2013. I no longer practice or teach in this lineage but the love I have for the practice has evolved along with me. I have undertaken post-qualifying teachers’ courses with Jude Murray’s Healing Space to adapt yoga for people living with cancer, in yoga nidra and womb yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, restorative yoga with Judith Hanson and pre- and post-natal yoga with YogaGro.
I currently practice and study yoga with Diane Long. Diane was one of Vanda Scaravelli’s longest serving students. We work intuitively with the natural intelligence and wisdom of the body relating back to the spine; the focus of the yoga is not so much about performing ambitious postures but very much about connecting to the sensations derived on the way, in this way we let go quite naturally of the need to push and pull. The work is challenging and rewarding and always different.
Vanda Scaravelli’s work focused on the spine and on working with gravity, breath and awareness to ‘re-awaken’ the potential of the spine to bring a new freedom and fluid strength to the body. In this way there is a whole new language of movement born from the spine and expressing itself in beauty and a ‘whole-body’ approach which releases blocks and allows us to truly ‘be’ in the moment.
Asana and Pranayama are no longer fixed techniques that we impose on our bodies, but vital and surprising expressions of a deeper understanding of the body/breath/mind union. The yoga is for everyone regardless of age, fitness or experience. One of the beauties of this way of working is the release of focus on the final form or shape of the asana posture, the focus is on the feeling through the spine and with that we find freedom rather than control, we break free of the ego and achievement mindset and revel in the beauty of the body as we allow ourselves to open up to the natural intuitive curiosity of the intelligent body. This way of working has the capacity to transform your relationship to your yoga, to your body and to yourself.
I have had the privilege to be inspired by many great teachers, who have reminded me that we are life-long learners, everyday, every time we're on our mats we have this beautiful opportunity to begin again and to honour ourselves. I offer my intense gratitude and thanks to all my teachers who have inspired me to pass the gift of yoga on to others.
With love and light, Juliette

I started listening to the teaching of my Soul.” ~ Rumi
